In matter of 24 hours or even less than that this mercurial city of Oakland can unravel itself to you in all its glory. Leaving you with lots of  memories that will forever stay young in your mind. 8 AM: Start your day with Royal breakfast at Mama's Royal Cafe

An auspicious day has to start with delicious breakfast. That can just set you up for all the pulsating action that is awaiting you. So early morning just start treading your feet across Broadway road and enter Mama's Royal Cafe. True to its name, breakfast here is just as delicious as cooked by your beloved Mama. 9 AM: Odyssey with Nature at Lake Merritt    

There is nothing more exciting than to start your day amid serene nature. Hence Lake Merritt - one of the most beautiful locations in Oakland – features as first place in our tour schedule. Its not a garden but a beautiful lagoon that is located in very heart of the city.
This immensely beautiful tidal lagoon has so much to offer to the visitors. That boredom doesn’t even cast its shadow on the minds of all its day-to-day visitors. To begin with, relaxing and wandering through scenic nature is just one of the many obvious things to do here, other activities will push your adrenaline - cycling, jogging, kayaking, boating and rowing.

10:30 AM: Oakland Museum of California

After basking under nature it’s time for some engrossing enlightenment. Step inside Oakland Museum of California, located just stone throw away from Lake Meritt. This museum is one of the best in California. Its staggering collection of 1.9 million objects that encompasses almost all important disciplines – Science, History, Art, Ethnographic – is simply unmatched. To put it simply, Oakland Museum of California is one of the most engrossing and enthralling museums that you’ll ever visit.

11:45 AM: Enjoy some street shopping at Chinatown 

Just few minutes away from Oakland Museum is a different world awaiting you. This is Oakland’s famous Chinatown for you; where hordes of people flock everyday to enjoy street shopping and delicious Chinese food. Both of which are so raw and uniquely Chinese that you’ll completely imbibe its infectious vibe.

The plethora of stalls all around and irresistible bargaining & affordable shopping that comes along with them will please you, probably because you won’t find such raw shopping experience anywhere else in Oakland. As for what you must shop for here,  basically anything that catches your eye deserves to end up in your shopping bag. Be it cloths, artificial jewellery, furniture, Chinese artifacts & handicrafts and Chinese antique items. Or you can also buy items like groceries, Chinese seafood, vegetables and fruits. Irrespective of what you end up buying here, the price tag won’t dig a hole in your pocket.                                    

1: 15 PM: Lunch at Jack London Square

By this time you’re hunger pangs will certainly get the better of you, we take you to a place that is abound with some fabulous restaurants. And not to forget enticing waterfront view that is going to make your lunch a memorable affair. This is Jack London Square – one of the most celebrated destinations of Oakland city.
Among barrage of fine restaurants here, we’ve chosen three immensely famous restaurants for you. These are Encuentro Cafe and Wine Bar, Yoshi's and Brotzeit Lokal. Step inside any of these fine restaurants and your taste buds will be satiated.

2: 20 PM: Some recreation and outdoor fun at Jack London Square

We did mention that Jack London Square is one of the most happening destinations of Oakland city. Well, the barrage of fine restaurants is one of the reasons that certainly make it one. The other important reasons are its volley of recreational activities and hordes of parties that always keep the mood here very upbeat.
You can simply indulge in an array of water sports activities like boating, paddling, kayaking etc. Or have some fun in plethora of adventurous sports that take place in ground areas of Jack London Square. Or simply splurge yourself at many upscale retail stores of London square. To put it simply, Jack London square is a place where boredom doesn’t even cast its fickle shadow.

3:50 PM: Enjoy San Francisco Bay Ferry

From merely staring at beautiful waterfront views of San Francisco Bay to exploring it. Well, we’re not talking about swimming here. Rather, we’re talking about San Francisco Bay Ferry ride. A ferry ride that will give you some incredible views of San Francisco.

Weekday and weekend San Francisco Bay Ferry ride is available right at Jack London Square terminals. There is a weekday ferry ride available at 3:50 PM from Jack London Square terminal to San Francisco Building. In case you’re at Jack London Square on weekend, then ferry ride is scheduled at 4: 40 PM for San Francisco Building area.

The ferry ride lasts for roughly half an hour. More or less ride lasts for same hours for return journey from San Francisco Building. During this one hour of ferry ride you’ll come across some stunning views of San Francisco.

6 P.M – Shopping at Oakland City Center

After your hour long ferry ride and after you’ve arrived back at Jack London Square Terminal, it is time again to shuffle around shopping bye lanes. However, unlike street shopping at Chinatown, shopping here is about indulging in a completely different shopping experience. Because now you’re at Oakland City Center – the ultimate shopping, dining and business destination of Oakland city.
Here shopping is certainly more glamorous than Chinatown and also you’ll find more options than Jack London Square. Simply put, here shopping is pure indulgence. The barrage of international and renowned shopping brands that you’ll come across here will simply bamboozle you.

8: 15 PM – New Karibbean City Nightclub

Just stone throw away from Oakland City Center is New Karibbean City Nightclub - one of the most happening night clubs of Oakland city. It’s a place where you can simply bare out all your insanity. Sane things certainly don’t make any sense here; as rocking music will tear your ear buds and all the hard liquors will leave you completely intoxicated. Our prudent advice is that you better control your senses!

10 PM - Delicious dinner at Burmese Superstar Restaurant or Wood Tavern Restaurant

The reason we told you to control your senses at Karibbean City is because we’ve lined up a fine dinner for you at two of the most popular restaurants. Either you can choose to indulge in Asian cuisine at Burmese Superstar in Telegraph Ave or typical American cuisine in Wood Tavern Restaurant at College Ave.
Irrespective of which restaurant you chose to step inside, you’ll end up having an awesome dinner for sure. And more importantly you’ll be left feeling happy that you’ve rapped up your trip by relishing a very delicious food.
